Neustadt is situated at the heart of the Palatinate wine region, close to the Alsace border of France and is surrounded by small wine villages as well as castles, forests and a veritable sea of vineyards.
It is also the hub of the German Wine Street, stretching from Bockenheim on the border to Rheinhessen, along the edge of a range of wooded, sandstone hills known as the Haardt Hills, right down to Schweigen at the French border.
On Tuesday, we had a guided tour of the center on the city. Enjoy some photos of "downtown"!
